FAQs:

Should I take the OSHA 10-Hour Maritime Training or OSHA 30-Hour Training?
The 10-hour class is intended to provide workers with awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards including basic awareness training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of workplace hazards. The course also provides information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and filing a complaint.

The 30-hour class is more appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility as it provides a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards in the maritime industry.

Why is this course two days - can't I do all 10 hours in one day?

This training will take a minimum of 10 hours to complete, however OSHA limits training contact hours to 7½ hours per day. Rather than one long 7½ day with a lunch break and a shorter second day, we have broken the training up into two days, each lasting approximately 5½ hours per day (including breaks).

When will I receive my student course completion card?

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a temporary OSHA 10 Maritime course completion certificate. Your temporary certificate will be mailed out within four to six weeks of completing the class and is valid for 90 days. Cut and fold to carry in your wallet as proof of your OSHA 10-Hour certification. You can expect your permanent OSHA 10 Maritime card within 8 weeks from your class completion date. Permanent OSHA cards will be mailed out to the address you provided at registration.*

If you sucessfully completed the OSHA 10 Maritime Training and have not received your final OSHA card within 10 weeks of completing your class, contact your employer, or contact us at support@illustrapro.com. If we haven’t heard from you regarding a missing or lost card within 12 weeks from the date of your class completion, you will be charged a fee for us to process and issue you a replacement card.

*NOTE: OSHA cards are only mailed to US addresses.

Does my Maritime OSHA 10 Certification Card Expire?

As of April 1, 2019, Maritime student course completion cards do not expire. Training completed before this date remains valid. Cardholders are not required to obtain a replacement. If a replacement card is desired, the Maritime class must have been completed within the past five years. Illustra Pro students may request a replacement card here.

My instructor was very knowledgeable about all things OSHA related and incorporated real life examples into his presentation. I have been to OSHA training before, but this class was by far the most professional and informative.
