One way to help drive engagement and ensure that a selected recipient sees your content is to tag them in your social media posts. (Notice, the above reads “selected recipient”, not everyone in the world…)
Typically you’ll only want to tag one or two others, and only when what you’re posting is relevant for them! For example, if you attended or were a sponsor of a particular organization’s fundraising event, your social media posts about it might look something like this:
“Check out the cool swag I got from @organization at their Charity Ball last week.”
or
“Wow, over $5K raised for #CauseHashtag last week – Great fundraiser @organization!”
This not only notifies a particular organization that you’ve just mentioned them socially, but also gives them the opportunity to engage with your post — thereby extending your post reach. It’s also just a very nice way to let them (whoever you’re tagging) know that you’re thinking about them, and helping promote their business or personal interests, not just your own.
