One of the best ways to leverage engagement and expand the reach for your content is to use hashtags in social media postings.
Hashtags create a feed in social sites that filter posts about content using that hashtag. That’s what the whole “trending” thing is about in Twitter… If you’re interested in what others are saying about a particular product or topic, you can simply search that hashtag to see all the posts about it. For example, wondering if you should buy that new Apple Watch, or how to pair it with your iPhone? Check out what others are saying about it on Twitter at #AppleWatch.
So if you want your post about a certain topic to show up in a filtered feed allowing others to find your post and join the conversation, simply include an appropriate hashtag in your post.
Don’t just use them in Twitter posts though! Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest are all using hashtags to help people search and find relevant content.
