As obvious as it sounds, Google is not your target audience.
While you certainly want your blog or website pages to rank high on Google (and other search engines), focusing on keywords and rankings instead of the actual content you’re writing is the antithesis of what Google is looking for.
As explained in our prior blog about Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI), Google looks at all the page copy, synonyms and related words, to establish relevancy of your content, not just individual keywords or keyword phrases. So really all you need to do is write naturally.
And the reason why is more important than understanding Google’s algorithms (which are changing constantly anyway). The reason why is because Google wants you to provide valuable—readable—content to your readers. Information that educates, or inspires, or otherwise engages readers, rather than publishing page after page of nonsensical (keyword-stuffed) content simply to get your site to rank higher.
So start by providing great content and just write naturally. You’ll likely get an organic boost from Google without even trying.
More importantly, you’ll be providing your target market—existing and potential customers—with content that helps nurture their desire to do business with you.
